MNRB  SCHOLARSHIP FUND, a fund established by MNRB HOLDINGS BERHAD (a Company listed on the Main Board of the Bursa Malaysia and a subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB)), invites scholarship applications from suitably qualified young Malaysians who have successfully completed their SPM/STPM and are planning to pursue a Matriculation/Foundation, Diploma, First Degree or Professional course on a full-time basis at any recognized institution of higher learning.

VALUE OF AWARD Tuition fees based on actual for students pursuing studies at public universities or colleges and a maximum of RM8,000.00 per annum for students pursuing studies at private universities or colleges. The actual tuition fees are paid for overseas studies. Allowance of RM8,000.00 per year for local Matriculation/Foundation or Diploma courses and RM10,000.00 per year for First Degree or Professional courses. For overseas studies, adequate living and relocation allowances will be given. A bonding period is attached to the scholarship, where the recipient may be required to serve the MNRB Group or any of the companies designated by the Trustees of the MNRB Scholarship Fund.

SELECTION CRITERIA The applicant: - Should be below 23 years of age Should have obtained at least grade A2 in a minimum of 6 subjects inclusive of English, Mathematics and Science in the SPM examination results; OR Should obtained at least 3As and pass the General Paper at the Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) examination; OR Should have obtained a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.5 for Matriculation, Diploma or Degree Must write a 1-page essay (in English and on a separate sheet of paper) describing reasons for applying for the scholarship, benefit from the course of study including education and career plans Preference will be given to those active in co-curricular activities Must not be a recipient of a scholarship/loan/financial assistance from any other organisation Employees working in the local insurance industry or their children are encouraged to apply The offer is subject to the applicants gaining entry into recognized local or overseas institutes of higher learning to pursue the approved courses

TRIAL SPM/STPM RESULTS Candidates with TRIAL SPM/STPM RESULTS, who meet the above mentioned selection criteria are also encouraged to apply for the scholarship. Selected candidates will be given provisional offer of the scholarship to pursue the approved courses subject to the variance between the actual results and the trial results being within acceptable range.

Google is committed to helping the innovators of the future make the most of their talents by providing scholarships and networking retreats for computer science students with disabilities. This scholarship aims to help dismantle barriers that keep students with disabilities from entering computing, encourage them to excel in their studies and become active role models and leaders in creating technology.
Multiple scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of candidates’ academic performance and demonstrated passion for computer science. A group of Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students will be chosen from the applicant pool. Applications will be reviewed by a committee of researchers and engineers. The scholarship recipients will each receive a EUR 7,000 (or equivalent) scholarship for the 2011/2012 academic year.
In June 2011, all scholarship recipients will be invited to visit Google’s Engineering Centre in Zurich for an all-expenses-paid networking retreat. It will include workshops with a series of speakers, panels, breakout sessions and social activities, and will provide an opportunity to meet and share experiences.

Terms and conditions:

• Applicants must completed the application form and provide all required documents in order to be considered for the scholarship. Receipt of the required documents does not automatically warrant that the scholarship has been awarded to the applicant. The applicant will receive written notification of the scholarship/ award offer.
• Once an applicant has indicated acceptance of the scholarship/ award, he or she must be enrolled as a full-time student for the entire length of the programme(s) as stated in the letter of offer.
• The current year's trial/ forecast results are accepted if the official results have not been released at the point of intake. However, the Scholarship/ award will be conditionally awarded with the forecast results until the official/ actual results are produced. The official/ actual results must meet the original requirements; otherwise, the scholarship will be downgraded to the next level or forfeited. Vice-versa, if the official/ actual results qualify for a higher level of scholarship, the scholarship with the higher value will be awarded from the next semester onwards. In both situations, there will be neither a refund nor top-up required on the tuition fees paid.
• For official/ actual results, applicants may only use the current year's results.
• The scholarship is neither transferable nor exchangeable for cash or other alternatives. In the event a student decides to discontinue his or her studies, the scholarship will be forfeited.
• The provision of accommodation (wherever applicable) is subjected to availability.
• Students must take a "full-load" of subjects every semester. The scholarship will be terminated upon completion of the normal prescribed study period specified by Nilai University College.
• The Scholarship is offered for first take of tuition fees only.
• To maintain the award, students must be certified active in extra-curricular activities, whether organised within or outside the university during the duration of study at Nilai University College, as well as maintain the following:
  • High Achievers Scholarship: CGPA of 3.5
  • Merit Scholarship:CGPA of 3.0
  • Extra Curriculum Excellence Award:CGPA pf 2.5
  • Enrichment for Life (EFL) Award:CGPA of 2.5
• If a student fails to maintain the required score of CGPA, the scholarship/award will be suspended in the following semester (with immediate effect, with or without notification to the student). The student must settle all fees in the semester where the award is suspended ("Suspended Semester"). Should the student meet the academic requirements for the Suspended Semester, the scholarship will be reinstated for the subsequent semester (provided the Scholarship Scheme is still valid), failing which the scholarship will be terminated. There will be no refund of fees for the Suspended Semester. The student must settle all fees in the remaining duration of study if he/ she chooses to remain a Nilai University College student.
• The scholarship cannot be offered in conjunction with any other discounts and offers at the University College. At all times, applicants/ students are entitled to accept ONE (1) discount (or scholarship) scheme at the University College.
• All scholarship/ award recipients are required to:-
  • Attend the scholarship ceremony when requested.
  • Contribute their time to assist the University College in marketing and promotional activities, peer counseling, extra-curricular activities and other administrative work as notified by Nilai University College.

This page concerns applications to the UWC movement. All Malaysian applicants to UWC normally apply through UWC Malaysia's National Committee which selects applicants to represent Malaysia at the UWCs.

Scholarships offered yearly to Malaysia for the IB Diploma program in UWCs worldwide vary from full to partial scholarships between 50% and 75%. Although the number of scholarships differs from year to year, they are always limited and few. Where partial scholarships are offered, parents are expected to make up the difference on the amount.

Students are selected based on competitive selection via written applications and personal interviews. Other elements may include a piece of written work, an examination, group discussions, teamwork exercises, an excursion or camp and community service projects. UWC Graduates are involved throughout most selection processes.

The UWC of the Adriatic in Italy offers special scholarship programs for exceptional Physics or Music students. However, all applicants undergo the same initial selection process. UWC Malaysia National Committee currently does not send students to the agriculturally-based Simon Bolivar UWC.
